Modern Slavery Statement
Notting Hill Movers Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Notting Hill Movers in recognition of our responsibility to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We are committed to conducting our business ethically, transparently, and in full compliance with all applicable laws relating to modern slavery and human rights.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Notting Hill Movers maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, child labour, and servitude. This applies to every aspect of our business, including our employees, contractors, agency workers, and suppliers. We will not knowingly engage with any organisation that is involved in or complicit with modern slavery in any form.
All managers and employees are required to act with integrity and to uphold our standards. Any breaches of this policy by employees may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. For suppliers and other third parties, breaches may result in suspension or termination of contracts.
Our Business and Supply Chain
Notting Hill Movers provides moving and relocation services, including residential and commercial removals, packing, storage, and related logistics. Our supply chain includes, but is not limited to, providers of vehicles, fuel, packing materials, storage facilities, equipment, recruitment and labour agencies, and other professional service providers.
We recognise that certain parts of the logistics and labour supply sectors can be at higher risk of modern slavery. Accordingly, we focus our due diligence efforts on areas where the risk is greatest, including any use of temporary labour and subcontracted services.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We expect all our suppliers and business partners to share our commitment to preventing modern slavery and to adhere to ethical employment practices. Where appropriate, we require contractual commitments that suppliers comply with modern slavery legislation and maintain fair working conditions.
Notting Hill Movers undertakes proportionate supplier audits and assessments, prioritising higher risk categories such as labour providers and subcontracted logistics. These audits may include site visits, document reviews, and discussions with management and workers to verify compliance with our expectations on working hours, wages, and freedom of movement.
If an audit or assessment reveals concerns or non-compliance, we will work with the supplier to develop an improvement plan with clear timelines. Persistent or serious non-compliance may lead to the ending of the commercial relationship.
Training and Awareness
We provide appropriate training and guidance to relevant staff, including managers, supervisors, and those involved in procurement and recruitment. This training covers the signs of modern slavery, how to respond to concerns, and our internal reporting processes.
We strive to ensure that staff understand their responsibilities and feel confident in raising concerns at the earliest opportunity. Awareness materials and regular internal communications support the ongoing reinforcement of this commitment.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Notting Hill Movers encourages employees, contractors, suppliers, and any other stakeholders to report any concerns or suspicions related to modern slavery or unethical labour practices. Concerns can be reported to line managers, senior management, or through our whistleblowing channels, which allow individuals to raise issues confidentially and without fear of retaliation.
All reports will be treated seriously and investigated promptly and fairly. We are committed to protecting anyone who raises a concern in good faith, and we will not tolerate any form of victimisation or discrimination against whistleblowers.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that combating modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility. Notting Hill Movers is committed to continually improving our processes and controls to identify, prevent, and address potential risks in our operations and supply chains.
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed at least annually by our senior management team to ensure it remains accurate, effective, and aligned with best practice and any changes in legislation. As part of the annual review, we will evaluate the outcomes of any audits, investigations, and training initiatives, and update our approach as necessary.
This statement has been approved by the leadership of Notting Hill Movers and reflects our continuing commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity and respect for human rights across our business and supply chain.
